What is the 24 Hour Hotline
“I am responsible… When anyone, anywhere, reaches out for help, I want the hand of A.A. always to be there. And for that: I am responsible.”
Would you like to carry AA’s message on the phone?
Possibly the most important job that the Intergroup does is maintain the 24-Hour hotline.
This phone line allows the hand of A.A. to always be there to anyone who needs Alcoholics Anonymous’ critical help, meeting information, or to speak with another alcoholic.
This phone line is staffed by Central Office volunteers from 9am-5pm Monday thru Friday and 10am-2pm on Saturdays. When the Central Office is closed the phone is answered by Volunteers who divert the calls to their home phones. Most phone shifts are between 2-4 hours.
Most volunteers find that by sharing their experience, strength and hope, they not only get to help a fellow alcoholic, but they also empower their own sobriety.
If you would like to volunteer to answer phones contact the Intergroup Central Office at (831) 475-5782.
